A Midlands based business lender is increasing its support for local entrepreneurs by expanding across the region after lending £30 million to SMEs.
The not-for-profit lender with over 14 years’ experience of providing loans to viable businesses across the Midlands, has strengthened its business development team with the introduction of Richard Steele, who will support the funding needs of businesses in Birmingham, Leicestershire, Coventry and Warwickshire.
After working in the financial services sector for over 13 years, Richard joins BCRS Business Loans at an incredibly exciting time, as the co-operative lender works towards hitting its next target of £10 million of loans each year, reaffirming its commitment to supporting local businesses that are unable to secure finance from traditional lenders.
“I am delighted to be joining BCRS Business Loans, who have built an excellent reputation with both SMEs and finance professionals for providing business loans up to £150,000.
“For the past ten years I have been working closely with a range of local businesses at one of the UK’s leading banks, as both a relationship manager and business development manager. Throughout my career I have supported businesses with an annual turnover of less than £250k right up to those recording over £10 million.
“This move seemed like natural progression; I want to be able to say “YES” to local businesses that have solid business plans demonstrating growth potential. After working with a wide variety of SMEs including retailers, manufacturers, service providers and many more, I feel I have the skills, experience and understanding necessary to arrange suitable loan packages that meet the needs of local businesses”, commented Richard.
BCRS Business Loans is also celebrating after receiving authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to make loans to sole traders under the Consumer Credit Act.
Paul Kalinauckas, Chief Executive of BCRS Business Loans, said: “I am delighted to welcome Richard to our team as he is clearly very knowledgeable in the field of business lending. Combined with receiving FCA Authorisation and smashing the £30 million loans target, we are delighted to ramp up our support for small businesses who still find it incredibly hard to access finance for growth.
“Like BCRS Business Loans, Richard is passionate about supporting the creation and safeguarding of jobs for the local community, which is why we lend to businesses that have a positive impact on our economy. We believe in liberating businesses through providing finance to help them achieve their goals. I wish Richard every success in his new appointment”, concluded Paul.
