Paul Kalinauckas: Chief Executive

Paul Kalinauckas is the Founder Chief Executive of BCRS, which he established in 2002. Since then BCRS has grown to become the largest Responsible Finance provider of its kind in the country.

Fun:
Paul loves Canicross, the sport of running with dogs, and races for England in the annual Tri Nations Canicross Championships. He founded Shropshire Canicross, which now has over 500 members and also organises Canicross outings with dogs from his local Rescue Kennels, which improves their adoption rates.

Sarah Moorhouse BA (Hons), MCIM, MCIPR, MIoD: Operations & Marketing Director

As Operations Director, Sarah plays a vital role in ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the business run smoothly. She is responsible for ensuring that effective methods are put into place so that BCRS runs to its maximum productivity.

As Marketing Director Sarah develops highly effective marketing campaigns. Brilliantly targeting ideal customers. Making it all happen on time and under budget.

Fun:
Has an unnatural obsession with Spin classes at her local gym.

Stephen Deakin BSC (Hons), FCCA: Finance Director

Stephen has extensive experience in the finance sector. Initially working in practice, he was exposed to a wide variety of industries that allowed him to develop a broad skill set.

Fun:
Stephen is chair of governors at a local school and is a season ticket holder at West Bromwich Albion.
Stephen has recently discovered a passion for surfing and can be seen frequently struggling on the Welsh waves.
Aside from this, he likes spending time with his children, enjoys music and plays the bass guitar.

Wesley Lovett CeMap, DipBB&C: Head of Business Development

Wesley has extensive experience in the financial sector. Whilst in the banking sector he covered retail, operational and business banking.

“I don’t think I will ever lose my passion for lending money to businesses. I thoroughly enjoy understanding how a business operates and enjoy helping as many SMEs as possible with access to finance”.

Wesley’s key area is Shropshire but for our customers and professional colleagues alike he is more than happy to travel the width and breadth of the West Midlands.

Fun:
In his spare time Wes enjoys keeping fit; either by going to the gym as often as he can or walking his dog. Aside from this, he tries to travel as far and wide as he can, aiming to tick as many things off his bucket list as possible.

Tony Wood ACIB: Head of Credit

Tony has been in finance since 1977 when he joined what was then known as Midland Bank. Professionally qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), Tony has supported a great number of businesses with their funding needs during his career at BCRS Business Loans, which he is incredibly proud of.

Fun:
Tony is currently trying to improve his general fitness by attending local running clubs and taking weekly Thai boxing classes.

Tony also has a surprising knowledge of British birds, which comes in handy at local quizzes.

Louise Armstrong: Senior Business Development Manager

Louise joined BCRS Business Loans after an extensive career in the banking sector.

“I am looking forward to being able to say ‘yes’ to viable SMEs, understand what they do and find ways of helping them.

“We understand that accessing finance can sometimes be a problem and I would urge any business to contact us if they are having difficulty raising some or all of the finance they need.”

Fun:
Louise enjoys watching sports, especially football, cricket and rugby. The Six Nations is fun in her household as Louise is Welsh, her daughter is English, and her husband is Irish, so there is plenty of banter during the matches.

Like most of the nation, Louise is a mad Games of Thrones fan and tends to watch it with a glass of wine at her side.

At weekends Louise enjoys trying out different cooking recipes which normally involve a lot of spices and ghost chillies!

Angie Preece: Senior Business Development Manager

Boasting over 25 years’ experience with the UK’s leading banks, building societies and mortgage lenders, Angie joined BCRS Business Loans in January 2016 with a great deal of experience in the commercial lending arena.

“I have a passion for supporting the funding needs of local businesses. I want to provide SMEs with finance because they truly have viable growth plans, rather than whether they satisfy credit scoring systems.

“Because I have gained extensive experience of working with businesses in the Three Counties (Worcestershire, Gloucestershire & Herefordshire), I am able to adapt my knowledge to help meet their business goals by supporting their lending needs.”

Fun:
After completing a challenging 300-mile charity bicycle ride from London to Paris in mid-2016, Angie is currently planning more charity rides for the future.

Angie’s idea of utopia is spending time in Florida and exploring other US states by motorcycle with her husband. And relaxing by the pool of course – it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere!

Lynn Wyke: Senior Business Development Manager

Lynn joined BCRS Business Loans in August 2018 following a successful career in the banking sector, which saw her reach the position of Director of Business Banking.

As Business Development Manager at BCRS Business Loans, Lynn understands the needs of small and medium sized businesses and is passionate about providing them with the funding they need to grow and prosper.

“With extensive experience in business finance, the best part of my job is visiting businesses face-to-face to discuss their needs and find a way to support them. We believe that no viable business should go unsupported”.

Fun:
After a busy working week, my ideal Friday night sees me head down to my local for a drink with family and friends before tucking into a curry. Besides this, I love going on holiday to either relax in the sun or go skiing for an adrenaline boost! Oh, and it’s compulsory that I go to at least one festival a year – the best being Glastonbury!

Osman Baz: Business Development Manager

Osman joined BCRS Business Loans in 2018 after a varied career in the financial services sector. Much of Osman’s experience is in the banking sector, but he also worked in insurance.

“I am looking forward to working with businesses to make their dreams and aspirations a reality. We want to be able to say ‘yes’ to helping businesses access the finance they need to grow and prosper, which makes a real difference to the West Midlands region, by creating jobs and boosting the economy.”

Osman is a massive football fan. As a season ticket holder at Aston Villa, you will find him at every home game. Aside from that, he enjoys keeping fit at the gym, listening to music and travelling whenever he can. His recent trips include Vienna, Berlin, Reykjavik, Brussels, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Venice, Stockholm and Kashmir.

Andrew Hustwit: Business Development Manager

Andrew, more commonly known as Andy, joined BCRS Business Loans in March 2018 as a dedicated Business Development Manager for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

Andy’s background consists mostly of experience in the financial services sector, comprising of relationship manager roles for a big UK bank on both a local and regional level, but has also dabbled as a pub manager and an architectural technician.

“I am really looking forward to meeting growing businesses and being able to use the good old-fashioned (but always best) approach to lending – meeting applicants face-to-face, getting to know their businesses and judging each case on its own merits.”

Andrew’s key areas are Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent but for our customers and professional colleagues alike he is more than happy to travel the width and breadth of the West Midlands.

Fun:
Much of Andy’s spare time is currently taken up building a new ‘man cave’ at the bottom of his garden. Aside from this, Andy is also a Scout leader for his local group and is quite partial to surfing whenever he gets chance.

Tracy Sherratt: Business Development Manager

Tracy joined BCRS Business Loans in July 2018 as a Business Development Manager to support the funding needs of SMEs based in and around South Staffordshire, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

With an extensive career in personal and business banking at one of the UK’s biggest banks, Tracy’s passion lies with supporting SMEs.

“The best part of my job is hearing the amazing work that small businesses are doing. We believe in what they do and are committed to leaving no viable business unsupported.”

Fun:
When Tracy is not busy renovating her house, she enjoys baking all sorts of goodies. Tracy’s take on Rocky Road seems to have gone down particularly well in the office! Aside from this, she enjoys travelling – with her favourite destination being Florida, which she has said she could go back to time and time again.

Neil Johnston BA (Hons): Portfolio & Compliance Manager

Neil joined BCRS in 2014 as Portfolio and Compliance Manager. Neil’s responsibilities include the management of the portfolio, including collections and credit sanctioning, the management of compliance, regulations and risk, and is a member of the middle management team within the organisation.

During his time at BCRS, Neil has also taken the regulatory roles of Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Compliance Officer.

“Working for BCRS for the last four years has been a hugely rewarding experience. Every day I am able to play my part in assisting businesses to achieve their long-term aspirations, whether this be approving new loans or working with clients in financial difficulties to still achieve the goals.

“BCRS is a thriving business itself. My role allows me to become involved in the nuts and bolts of how the business operates and allows me to develop my skills controlling risk, compliance and portfolio management.”

Fun:
I enjoy badminton and golf to keep fit and playing the violin and piano to relax, although now that we have two young boys running around the house, relaxing is a thing of the past!

Jacqui Williams: Lending & Project Accountant

Jacqui joined BCRS in 2011, having over 25 years’ experience in the small business lending sector. In her role, Jacqui is responsible for running BCRS loan books, administering the Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme and monitoring BCRS’ social impact. Jacqui is responsible for allocating loans to the most appropriate funding stream and is also head of Internal Audit for BCRS.

Fun:

Jacqui’s spare time is divided between ‘coaching’ her kids(!) and multiple sporting / outdoor activities. A regular badminton player in her spare time, she also enjoys going on regular hikes with her mad Springer Spaniel. She thoroughly enjoys skiing, cycling and travel. Being an avid Welsh Rugby Union Fan she plans to travel to the next Rugby Lion Tours to South Africa.

Emma Stanley: Management Accountant

Emma joined BCRS as a Management Accountant, boasting extensive experience in the field of accountancy. Emma’s role is a welcome addition to the Finance department at BCRS, as the organisation continues to grow at a rapid pace.

After starting her career, aged 18, Emma initially worked as a Purchase Ledger Clerk before progressing through the ranks to become a Management Accountant. In that time Emma gained a qualification from the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Fun:
When deciding on a holiday destination Emma tends to find that she is drawn back to Florida, where she can ‘get away with being a big kid’ at the theme parks.

Emma also admits to being a Harry Potter fanatic and was fortunate enough to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.

Matthew Slater BA (Hons): Marketing Officer

Matt joined BCRS Business Loans in 2014 after gaining a first-class BA honours degree in Business Management (Economics) from the University of Wolverhampton.

As Marketing Officer, Matt is responsible for managing marketing and PR related projects and campaigns. He also oversees the organisation of events such as Black Country Diners Club and Worcestershire Diners Club and manages relationships with funding partners to ensure marketing KPIs are being met.

Fun:
Matt’s hobbies include cooking, running and socialising.

Matt also loves travelling and exploring new places – whether at home or abroad. After exploring most of Europe and the United States, as well as parts of Asia and South America, Matt is now planning trips to Australia, Cuba and Japan.

Vickie Roberts: Portfolio & Lending Coordinator

One of the longest serving members of staff at BCRS, Vickie is responsible for being a key point of contact for our business loan portfolio, supporting them with any queries. In addition to this, Vickie works closely with the Business Development Team to process legal and loan documents for sanctioned loans.

Fun:
Has a Grade 2 in artistic Roller Skating.

Laura Cleary: Finance Assistant

Qualified by the Association of Accounting Technicians, Laura is responsible for purchase ledger duties, collating loan data and updating management information.

“After years of honing my practical finance skills, I am looking forward to using this knowledge in a completely new sector; one which is vitally important to the growth of our local businesses and wider economy.”

Fun:
Laura’s favourite thing to do after a long day is to sink into the sofa and catch up on all of her Netflix series, although her favourite programme will always be Vera! Aside from this, Laura is very family orientated, so spend time with them whenever she can.

Laura Lynch: Office Coordinator

Laura joined BCRS Business Loans in May 2018 as Office Coordinator. Laura’s role is incredibly varied and sees her work with all departments within the business – right from producing loan documentation to working on projects with the marketing and finance departments.

You will also recognise Laura as your main point of contact when calling our office.

Fun:
Laura tries to spend most of her time outside of work with her son; particularly by going on regular bike rides together. Aside from this, Laura is a gin enthusiast, and she believes nothing beats a good chinwag with friends and family.

Lauren McGowan BA (Hons): Digital Marketing Assistant

Lauren joined BCRS Business Loans in June 2019 as Digital Marketing Assistant and looks after everything digital in our marketing department, including mailing lists, social media, website and analytics.

Prior to joining BCRS, Lauren gained a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Business Management (Enterprise) at the University of Wolverhampton.

Fun:
Lauren enjoys travelling; her most recent trip being an extensive tour of Europe. Next on her list is Florida and other US states.

Lauren also has a lot of love for her dog and enjoys taking him on long walks in her spare time.

Mira Patel BA (Hons): Trainee Loans Officer

Mira joined BCRS Business Loans in October 2019 as a Trainee Loans Officer after graduating from the University of Wolverhampton with a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Business Management (Enterprise).

Mira is the main point of contact for dealing with and processing enquiries and loan paperwork, working with the business development team to ensure our loans process is as quick and simple as possible.

Fun:
Mira’s hobbies include cooking, taking the dogs for a long walk in the countryside and spending time with family.

When she’s not doing this, Mira enjoys watching Marvel films and is a regular concert goer – attending at least one concert a year with her favourite band being Mumford and Sons.
