BCRS are thrilled to report that Lakhbir Singh, Business Development Manager for BCRS, has been selected to become a member of the executive committee for the Institute of Asian Business (IAB).
According to the organisation’s president, Saqib Bhatti, the IAB is playing a significant role in the “massive revival” of Birmingham and continues to be a key force in developing the region’s business community.
The IAB is the largest ethnic business support organisation in the UK and is a subsidiary of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce. Increased membership, as well as continued efforts to petition and lobby against issues that affect the wider Asian community, has increased the influence of the IAB – with their voices now being heard in Westminster.
As a member of the executive committee, Lakh – in conjunction with other members – will be responsible for supporting the IAB Director; reviewing and responding to policies and developments that affect Asian businesses; link with local partners and stakeholders to enhance the development of the area’s business community, and to become recognised as a spokesperson for the Asian business community.
After learning about his appointment, Lakh said, “I am thrilled to become a member of the executive committee for an organisation that I have been a part of for many years. I am passionate about shaping and boosting the footprint of Asian business within my local area, and this position will enable me to provide even more support and assistance to ensure Asian businesses thrive.”
