BCRS marks International Women’s Day with breakfast networking event

BCRS Business Loans teamed up with Metro Bank to host a complimentary networking event in celebration of International Women’s Day last month.

The two organisations hosted an International Women’s Day Bucks Fizz Breakfast at Metro’s premises in Wolverhampton city centre on 16th March.

Attendees from local businesses in the West Midlands came together at Metro Bank in Dudley Street for a morning of networking, drinks and hot breakfast sandwiches.

The event attracted representatives of a range of leading Black Country businesses, along with colleagues from SMEs and micro-companies.

The breakfast was open to all and Sarah Moorhouse, who became CEO of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce last October, gave an inspirational speech sharing her career story to date which has seen her progress at companies across the region.

Sarah said: “It was a pleasure to speak to the audience as part of the Chamber’s drive to support and celebrate women in senior roles.

“Working with partners like BCRS and Metro, the Chamber sees it as vital to create opportunities for peer-to-peer networking, information sharing and offers inspiring events to help strengthen women’s voices, whilst encouraging and inspiring successful women.”

BCRS Senior Business Development Manager Lynn Wyke, one of the organisers for the event, commented: “We really enjoyed hosting the breakfast morning with Metro Bank. It was a great opportunity to network with other business owners and professionals and hear all about their experiences.”

“At BCRS we are proud to support women in business and celebrate their achievements, whether through providing funding opportunities, sharing success stories or aiding the career development of colleagues within our own team.

“Events like International Women’s Day remind us of the importance of looking at ways to challenge the way we work to build a more gender-equal world.”

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The event also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. This year’s theme was Embrace Equity.
