Llanelli Town AFC women’s team has secured a new sponsor for the season as it seeks to raise the profile of the side both locally and further afield.
BCRS Business Loans has partnered with the Adran League side and its under-19s development squad to help raise the profile of women’s football and promote wider participation in the sport. The sponsorship has enabled the teams to train in a dedicated women’s kit, proudly bearing the BCRS Business Loans logo.
Jordan Fox, Commercial Manager at Llanelli Town AFC, said:
“It’s an exciting time for us as a club as we start the new season in good spirits.
“Since the women’s side moved over to Llanelli Town AFC, it has grown considerably and we now compete in tier 2 of women’s football in Wales, whilst continuing to grow a strong development pipeline from grassroots into the senior side.
“We’re delighted that BCRS Business Loans has partnered with us as we journey across the country to play and build on what we have done so far”
Leanne Jones, Business Development Manager at BCRS Business Loans, commented:
“We’re proud to support Llanelli Town AFC as the women’s sides continue to make their mark with grit and determination in the Adran league.
“We believe that sport holds a power in building confidence and a sense of community and this sponsorship is part of our ongoing commitment to community and grassroots development. We’re proud to support these talented young women as they continue to grow on and off the pitch and wish them the very best of luck for the season ahead.”
The sponsorship underscores BCRS Business Loans’ dedication to fostering growth — from supporting SMEs to backing the next generation of women’s football players.
In Wales BCRS Business Loans is the fund manager for the Smaller Loans Fund (£25,000 to £100,000) of the Investment Fund for Wales, which was launched by the British Business Bank in late 2023. The Investment Fund for Wales operates across the whole of Wales and includes a range of finance options with loans from £25,000 to £2 million and equity investments up to £5 million to help small and medium-sized businesses start up, scale up or stay ahead.
Having worked with SMEs unable to access finance from traditional sources in the West Midlands since 2002, BCRS Business Loans has expanded into Wales to help smaller businesses there prosper and thrive under the fund, which was officially launched in Cardiff in November 2023.
Since BCRS was founded as a community development financial institution in 2002, it has provided loans worth more than £100 million to businesses across the West Midlands and Wales. A social impact report for the last financial year showed BCRS lent £9.9 m to 124 businesses, safeguarding 889 jobs and creating 317 roles, adding £51.2m in value to the economy of the West Midlands, surrounding regions and Wales.
