A Bangor timber business is reporting that its growth potential has been ‘truly unlocked ’ after a £100,000 finance package from BCRS Business Loans allowed it to capitalise on a window of opportunity.
Snowdon Timber Products, based on the Llandygai Industrial Estate, received the finance back in 2024 and is now projecting sales revenue of between £5 – 6 million this year, up from £2.2 million last year, whilst stockists of their products – including decking, sleepers, and firewood – have also expanded.
Director Jody Goode explains:
“There is no way around it – the business has experienced exponential growth and that is largely down to the fact that BCRS supported our ambitions at a time when other lenders wouldn’t.
“Just before we received the finance from BCRS, we were accepted to sell on the B&Q Marketplace, and whilst this still accounts for a large proportion of our sales revenue, we have been able to expand our e-commerce side of the business and people are now recognising our brand as one they can trust and they are specifically looking for our products.”
The finance allowed Snowdon Timber Products to drive further business growth after investing in technology, and now their products are sold through the likes of Robert Dyas, The Range, and Temu.
Jody continued:
“Alongside the sales growth, we have been able to invest in our staff, so much that we now employ double the number of colleagues since receiving the money, whilst we’ve been able to control costs and are still operating from our same base.
“The funding allowed us to capitalise on the first to market advantages, and we’ve been able to develop great relationships with other stockists. I’m pleased to say that everything is continuing in an upward trajectory.”
Jody is confident and excited for the next phase of business development.
“We are continuing to invest in technology – particularly on the opportunities AI brings to our business. We’re developing a great relationship with Bangor University, and academics there are helping us to further improve our sales platforms online.
“We are grateful to BCRS for having the confidence in supporting us.
“At the time we were presented with several opportunities, and without the funding, we would likely have missed this window. We are now looking forward to further developments and are excited to see what the future has in store.”
