PRESS RELEASE: A finance director at the West Midlands’ biggest Responsible Finance Provider has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.
Stephen Deakin, who has been finance director at BCRS Business Loans for the past five years, has been shortlisted for Finance Director of the Year (Not for Profit) at this year’s West Midlands Finance Awards 2019.
All of those shortlisted for an award were nominated by a third party who believes that the individual deserves recognition for their hard work, passion and dedication to their role.
According to organisers Robert Walters, the category received an astounding number of applicants with an exceptionally high quality of talent, so only those who scored 70 per cent or higher in their interview were shortlisted for the final.
Speaking after hearing that he had been shortlisted, Stephen Deakin said:
“I am delighted and humbled to have been shortlisted for the Finance Director of the Year (Not for Profit) award.
“It was a really pleasant surprise to have been nominated for this award and it is great to be recognised for doing something that I love. Being able to support the growth of West Midlands based SMEs is the reason I get out of bed every morning and continues to be a great motivation for me.
“I am incredibly lucky to have an excellent support network around me, in the form of my family, a great team at BCRS Business Loans and a great coach – all of whom I greatly appreciate.”
Paul Kalinauckas, chief executive at BCRS Business Loans, added:
“We are so pleased to see that Stephen has been recognised for the brilliant work that he does at BCRS Business Loans as our finance director.
“Steve’s dedication to bringing innovative new ideas to the organisation and securing additional funding streams has made him an integral part of our growth strategy, which will see us lend an extra 25 per cent per year for the next five years.
“Steve’s nomination is very well deserved and we have our fingers firmly crossed for a win on the 5th December.”
The awards ceremony is due to take place on Thursday 5th December at The ICC in Birmingham.
