Colleagues from BCRS Business Loans have swapped the office for the outdoors and spent two days volunteering at Compton Care, a specialist charity providing palliative and end-of-life care to families living with life-limiting conditions.
A total of 13 volunteers from BCRS Business Loans undertook a range of outdoor activities at the Compton Hall site, to improve the garden environment. Work included tidying the charity’s Garden of Reflection, as well as installing additional benches to allow more patients, families and staff to enjoy the tranquil space.
The Garden of Reflection is a peaceful outdoor area where patients, families and visitors can spend quiet moments of reflection and contemplation. The garden is also home to a dedicated Memory Wall, where locks and charms can be displayed in tribute to loved ones.
BCRS Business Loans operates a volunteering policy dedicated to supporting local good causes and giving back to the communities it serves. This partnership with Compton Care was selected as an opportunity for the team to contribute to a worthwhile cause, while strengthening the relationship between the two organisations.
Compton Care fundraising partnerships co-ordinator Louise Edwards said:
“We are grateful for the dedication and care shown by the BCRS Business Loans team. Their contribution to our outdoor areas has made a huge difference, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them.”
BCRS Business Loans chief executive Stephen Deakin added:
“We are proud to support Compton Care in their vital work with families facing life-limiting conditions. Volunteering with the team was a rewarding experience that reinforced our commitment to making a positive difference in the communities we serve. We look forward to future opportunities to collaborate with them.”
