The chief executive of one of the West Midlands’ most successful providers of alternative business finance has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.
Paul Kalinauckas, the founder chief executive of West Midlands based BCRS Business Loans, has been announced as a finalist for the Outstanding Leader of the Year award from the third sector at this month’s Midlands Leadership Awards.
The awards have been established to shine a light on individuals who are having a significant impact on the success of their organisations. Thirty five leaders from across the West Midlands have been recognised for their contributions in business, professional services, academia, third sector and the police.
Reflecting on his nomination, Mr Kalinauckas said:
“I am delighted and humbled to have been shortlisted for an award at the inaugural Midlands Leadership Awards, alongside 34 very talented leaders.
“Since founding BCRS Business Loans in 2002, I have always been committed to supporting the growth of viable local businesses that are struggling to access the finance they need to grow and prosper.
“With the help of a strong vision, a non-profit distributing model, an important set of co-operative values and a brilliant team, BCRS Business Loans has now lent £41 million and supported the growth of over 1,300 SMEs. Not only this, but our lending has facilitated the creation of 3,485 jobs and has safeguarded 5,288 jobs. Ultimately, we believe that no viable business should go unsupported.
“I am very much looking forward to attending the awards ceremony later this month and meeting attendees. I will be sure to let you know how I get on,” promised Paul.
The winners will be announced at a prestigious awards lunch on Thursday 15 November at Birmingham’s Edgbaston Stadium.
