A Worcestershire based accountancy firm has received funding to secure its growth plans.
Adderley Hill & Co, set up in 2013 by husband and wife team Stephen Adderley and Felicity Adderley-Hill, approached the Worcestershire Business Loan Fund to secure additional capital to support growth objectives.
The Bromsgrove based company aims to modernise accountancy by providing a clear and transparent pricing structure, which has proved popular with clients.
Both Stephen and Felicity sought the help of the Worcestershire Business Loan Fund to fund a move into bigger office space, hire four additional staff members and finalise the purchase of a second practice.
Providing loans from £10,000 to £50,000, the Worcestershire Business Loan Fund supports viable SMEs that are based within the county. The £2.2 million scheme was introduced by Worcestershire County Council and BCRS Business Loans, a provider of alternative finance across the Midlands, to support growing local businesses. Angie Preece is Business Development Manager for the Three Counties.
Stephen Adderley, director of Adderley Hill & Co, said: “Both my wife and I are very ambitious people and have always wanted to run our own business. We have a growing client portfolio, so we decided it was the right time to invest in the growth of the company.
“We couldn’t fault the Worcestershire Business Loan Fund and would be happy to recommend it to other local businesses. Our Loans Officer, Angie Preece, was incredibly supportive throughout the application process, with constant communication and face-to-face meetings,” commented Stephen.
Fellow director, Felicity Adderley-Hill, continued: “Both Stephen and I have a broad skill set in accountancy. AAT qualified, Stephen started as an apprentice and has since built up experience over the past eleven years; while I started as an administrator at the age of eighteen and worked hard to secure the position of director five years later.
“We are well-known in the area and look to support our clients in any way possible, with a service that encompasses ‘transparency’, ‘personality’ and ‘professionalism’ as key values.
The Chief Executive of BCRS Business Loans, Paul Kalinauckas, said: “We are delighted to be able to support enthusiastic and ambitious entrepreneurs with their exciting plans for Adderley Hill & Co. We understand how important small businesses are in strengthening our local economy and believe that no viable business should go unsupported. We support most market sectors and offer a relationship based approach to lending.”
Councillor Ken Pollock, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure said; “Stephen and Felicity are great ambassadors for small business. It’s always fantastic to see people following their growth ambitions and with the Loan from BCRS, it has helped them achieve their aspirations, while taking on new staff members and moving into new premises. This is at the heart of what we do, with the Council being committed to being ‘Open for Business’ and supporting the prosperity of the County”.
